World’s first biogas train makes maiden voyage in Sweden

It's stories like this that tell us we've slipped in world leadership.  We used to be the country that innovated.  But now we're spending our national resources propping up greedy has-beens - the energy industry and its greatest dependent, the automotive industry.

Invade Iraq for oil.  Destroy natural habitats for oil.  Push those sexy SUVs.  Vikings being buried in their ships comes to mind.  Well, if the CEOs want to be buried by their lack of vision and laziness, fine let them.  But I have an objection about their taking the rest of us with them.

What's all the fuss about?  Biogas.

Biogas is made up of shredded plant materials and animal waste, which are then mixed with water in a tank. Once the waste has decomposed, a gas is formed that can be stored and used as fuel.

The fools in this country have been playing around with our food supply, giving cattle feed with the blood and guts from other animals, leaving us at risk for the development of mad cow disease among our stock.  All the while, with a little ingenuity, they could have found a profitable and safe use for these end products that would be good for the environment,  increase our energy supply, and not risk the health of millions of Americans.

Way to go, CEOs of America!
