generic blender - not mine
edited from original picture by messa at morguefile

I went online to see if I could get a bowl replacement for our EuroPro blender.  Nope.  All I found were sites selling the blender new.  There was a product comment on one site, that the person found it cheaper to buy a new blender than find a replacement bowl.

Update:

Here's another issue related to the discussion below:  When you bought something and had it delivered, it was delivered free of charge.  First, let's talk about major appliance purchases.  The appliance was delivered free; the installation was made free; removal of old appliance was free.  So, today, you get the appliance cheaper, seemingly, but you're paying for all the things that were included in the price before.

While I was Christmas shopping, I went to the watch counter at a department store and asked if they could change the batteries in two watches - one of mine and one of my daughter's.  This is where I usually get my batteries changed

This isn't about international outsourcing, but about the use of outside delivery services.  Sears used to deliver its own appliances and set them up.

Recently, I purchased a refregerator and gas dryer from Sears, paid for delivery and for the removal of my old appliances.  As the delivery men were removing the old appliances, the lead worker asked, "Where do you want us to put the appliances?"

Not Bad! I'll take it.

I was hoping for Peter Weir, but I don't even know if he's on the list. Guess which director?
