A Message for Senator Barak Obama

Josh Marshall-TPM- on Barack Obama's comments about talk vs action.
"Sen. Obama (D-IL) said this morning that Democrats need to focus on convincing voters that "their values are at stake" in cases like the Alito hearings rather than relying on procedural gambits like the filibuster."
Excuse me, Senator Obama, precisely how will that deal with the problem of judicial appointments? I believe quite a number of US citizens are aware of the threat to our democracy. That's why we've been looking for our senators to act.
The filibuster will fail only if the senators voting "no" on Alito vote "yes" on cloture. The people cannot act. Senators can. I for one would like to see our Democratic Senators act for once instead of shooting off their mouths and then not acting.
